I love Christmas cards. I love getting them from the mailbox. I love opening them. I love hanging them up so I can enjoy them for weeks. I always pack them up in January and save them in one of our many Christmas decoration boxes. My husband thinks I’m crazy – but I love that I can flip through cards from years ago and see old photos that bring back fun memories of our friends and their kids.
Taking Christmas card photos — well that’s another story. I’m always taking our photo at the last minute, scraping together outfits, wishing that we’d all had haircuts (you know the drill). And the outtakes: the sitting that turns to wrestling, the regular photo that one boy turns into a silly photo, the jumping around that makes one boy blurry. The older the boys get, I always assume we’ll have less outtakes and more photo contenders for the card. Not the case. Here’s one of our outtakes. How many outtake photos do you have to sift through? :)
