Lauren is generous. Lauren is kind. Lauren is thoughtful. I also feel blessed to say: Lauren is my friend. Our mutual friend, Suzanne, introduced us a couple of months ago and already I feel like I’ve known Lauren for years. My time with Lauren passes in a blink, as we jump from one topic to the next. Would be much fun to live down the street from each other, so our paths would cross often.
Lauren is also an incredibly talented artist in Charlotte. I have a floral painting of hers that is one of my favorites (its called “Happiness in a Vase” – how great is that?!). In addition to painting flowers, trees, and coastal scenery, Lauren stays very busy with commissioned work, in which she captures families, kids, couples — anyone with a story, really — on canvas. Since the first day I saw one of her paintings in my friend Suzanne’s house, I’ve been trying to decide how I’d like her to capture my family (beach? mountains?). Take a look at her website. She’s incredible!
Here are a few of my favorites from our family session together. Payne and Wilson are some of the sweetest, most well-mannered boys I’ve met. They had so much love for Lauren and clearly have such a bond with each other. They are also sporty-sports — and were yawning during our 6:45pm session after a day full of active FUN.
Can’t you just tell that Lauren and Charles laugh often?
